And so begins the second month of 2017.
Which is good!
The Otherlife Omnibus drops into the sale category on February 2nd. (Link-https://www.amazon.com/Otherlife-Omnibus-Selfless-Hero-Trilogy-ebook/dp/B01N23IB1P)
Including the spiffy new cover (As seen below!)
I'm also now 33% done with the new super hero book.
I think it's going quite well!
If you'd like to read the first 3 (unedited) chapters, check out -this- link. (Link-http://royalroadl.com/fiction/chapter/112549)
Other than that, things are as things are.
I figure I can get this book sealed up in the end of April, finish up the Anti Hero novel 2 months after that, and then maybe a third LitRPG novel.
Then it'd be a planned return to Runner.
Or so the road map says.
We shall see.
Ever onwards!

A new year, the old one in review
First, a review of the year.
Second, the writing update.
Year in Review:
Well, it's been a year since I launched Otherlife Dreams and started as a "part time author."
It's been interesting!
I didn't participate in any writing circles. I didn't ask for help from anyone. I didn't even have alpha or beta readers.
Truth be told, I never actually expected anyone to even like my first book. It took me about 9 months to write a new book with no backstory or lore that was pre-existing.
When I had finished it, I started doing the editing. I got really mad one night and almost deleted the whole thing. "What's the point if I can't even get through editing my own story?" I thought.
Then I gave up. I shoved it into Amazon, waved at it, then went to bed.
I completely forgot about it for three days or so. Binged out playing the Witcher 3 and other things.
Then I logged into amazon to go look for new books to read and remembered i'd thrown mine in there. Checking on it, I was amazed to find people had actually liked it and left reviews.
So I wrote a sequel in six months. Which did well too.
So I wrote the next book in three months. Seems like people enjoyed the whole thing.
Now I'm starting up a new series and I find myself wondering about how far to take this whole thing.
It's fun to tell stories. I don't think I could ever make it my "job" though because I write the story I want to hear, rather than what I think will sell. Which means eventually I'm going to write some truly awful stuff.
We shall see!
Writing Update:
As for where I am with my writing?
I wrote about 40,000 words of the Anti-Hero, and found I wasn't enjoying the story personally. I've shelfed it for now while I let my sub-conscious chew on it. It's not "dead" just dormant for now.
I've moved to the Super Hero LitRPG novel instead. After that I'm going to write a Kingdom Building LitRPG novel i think. Then a return to Runner with a new trilogy. I've already had some great ideas for it.
Or so that's the plan for now.
January will see the release of the "Otherlife Omnibus" which will go on sale for 3-6 months, and then i'll be pulling it down. I personally don't like the idea of an Omnibus, but many fans asked for it. So we'll do it.

December? December
Ahoy.
I'm afraid I have nothing new to report. Other than that I am writing. :)
Writing a new book from scratch is definitely a lot harder than writing a sequel. I spend more time researching weird ideas and thoughts rather than just adding to the existing world.
Things are moving though, I do so swear.
In other news, I'm considering dropping an Omnibus edition of the trilogy at a reduced cost for a period of 3-6 months only. Then retiring it completely.
I'm not in favor of an Omnibus edition, but so many of you have asked about it, I feel compelled to make one.

November Update: Where you at?
Evening gents and ladies.
Been writing. Taking the pen to the anti-hero/sociopathic hero litrpg story.
So far, so good. It's definitely a lot slower going with a new novel that has no pre-existing backstory.
I might start posting things as we go. Suffice it to say, I think I like it so far.
Sorry for the minimalist update, nothing truly mind shattering to report.

The Trilogy is Done: So... now what?
10/16/16: Updated with chapter 1 for the AntiHero story.
I find myself at an interesting place to be.
I had never planned on writing books. It just... kind of happened. I've put no effort into marketing and zero concern about spreading my books around on websites and forums.
Honestly, this is mostly for fun and as a hobby. :)
But I've told my tale. So, now what?
I'm considering what I want to do next. I have some ideas for books but I'm not quite sure what to do.
I think I'll post a few test chapters of various things here and see what you all think as we go along. You patient few who actually visit the blog. :D
Right now I've got a couple ideas. Here they are in a generic 1 paragraph format. Full honesty up front, some of these have only a 1 page outline, and others already have a significant portion written. (One of them all the way up to 45,000 words)
Drop your thoughts in the comments if you don't mind sharing. :) I can't promise I'll heed the comments, but I promise I'll read them.

- An Anti Hero story(LitRPG)- A sociopathic hitman is whisked away to another world while on contract. Unfortunately the whisking away makes him very visible during the process and he's shot in the heart, only to die upon entering the new world. He's reborn and allowed to keep all the memories of his old life, minus the things that had made him sociopathic to begin with. That and everything to him has the appearance and feel of a video game from his original world. What does a ex-sociopathic military trained contract hitman do in a renaissance world?
((https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FGtAw6z8kk50S3MMOEGHEJITcIZa77D1ietJobkxOT4)) - Urban Fantasy- Everyone remembers tales of the boogie man. The monster in the closet. That you'd hide under the sheets to get away from him. What if the boogie man wasn't only true, but nearly an extinct species? The main character is one of the last remaining boogie men in the 21st century. The rest of his kind being hunted to extinction by other supernatural races, all for fear of the power of a boogieman. Main character is simply trying to survive in a modern world with a supernatural bent.
- Super Hero / Super Villain(LitRPG Lite)- Felix has a pretty crappy super power. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. Realizing that he'll never be able to do anything with it, he gets a normal job. This all changes one day when the city he lives in is taken over by Super Villains. Which is to say, not a whole lot changes, but the black market opens some new options for him. He discovers a way to augment his power and make it useful.
